- The village of Metzeral, a small village at an elevation of 500 meters in the Munster Valley. Metzeral owes its reputation to the mountains that surround it, with a wide band of ridges bordering the Vosges. In the center of the village, 1 km away, you’ll find a bakery, a convenience store, a pharmacy, an auto repair shop, and a bank. There is a small market every Wednesday morning.
- The Munster Valley, with its 16 municipalities, offers a range of services, including a medical center, fishing ponds, a supermarket in Munster (9 km away), a tourist office, bus routes between Gérardmer, Munster, and Colmar, and the Colmar–Munster–Metzeral TER train line.
A personal vehicle is recommended for getting around the region. A“Car-Free”stay is possible when visiting the major cities of Alsace; see our document“Alsace Without My Car” below.

Check-in is available between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sometimes accommodations are ready as early as 2:00 PM. For arrivals after 6:00 PM, please call us at +33 (0) 3 68 61 25 76 on the day of your arrival (between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM) so we can let you into your accommodation for the night.
Please remember to bring your own bath towels for the pool and spa area, as well as supplies (kitchen essentials and toilet paper) for inside the chalet. A welcome kit will be provided in the accommodation for the first 24 hours.
Please contact us in advance if you’d like to add breakfast or a spa treatment to your reservation. We also recommend making restaurant reservations in advance.
We’re located near Gérardmer and Colmar. Strasbourg is an hour’s drive away. For longer stays, consider exploring Switzerland and Germany—you can visit Basel, Breisach am Rhein, or Freiburg, for example.

Practical Information to Help You Plan Your Stay at Les Chalets de la Wormsa
Located in the Wormsa Valley in Metzeral, at the foot of the Hohneck massif, in the heart of a designated and protected area, the Chalets de la Wormsa offer an authentic and rejuvenating vacation setting where you can fully enjoy Alsace and the Hautes Vosges. Open year-round, the resort consists of 32 wooden chalets, accommodating 2 to 6 people, each equipped with a kitchenette, bathroom, toilet, heating, a terrace, and everything you need for a comfortable stay as a couple, with family, or with friends. The location is ideal for lovers of nature, hiking, and outdoor activities, with direct access to trails leading to the surrounding lakes and peaks.
On-site, guests can enjoy a heated pool and a full wellness area featuring a steam room, sauna, and hot tub. The pool and spa area is open year-round. The restaurant serves casual, home-style cuisine, perfect for extending the local experience after a day of exploring. Parking is free, pets are allowed under certain conditions (for an additional fee), and check-in begins at 3:00 PM, with check-out by 10:30 AM. A security deposit is required upon arrival.
At Les Chalets de la Wormsa, your stay is free of concrete and asphalt, set in a pristine environment where tranquility, nature, and fresh air take the place of urban sprawl.
