Make your arrival easier: whether you’re coming by car, train, bus, or plane, everything is set up so you can easily reach our campground in Metzeral.
Welcome to the directions page for theChalets de la Wormsa campground, located at 72 rue de l’Altenhof, 68380 Metzeral (Haut-Rhin). Here are the different ways to reach our campground, so your trip can get off to a smooth start.
Directions by Car
If you’re arriving by car, there are three possible routes. From the north, take the A35 highway to Colmar. From the south, take the N83 national highway to Colmar. From the west, take the D417 through the Vosges Mountains and over the Schlucht Pass (1,139 m) to Munster.
Then follow the D417 toward Munster. From Munster, take the D10 departmental road to Metzeral. Once in Metzeral, head toward Mittlach to pass by our establishment.
In winter, be aware that the ridge road (D430) is closed. Avoid the Vosges; while it is possible to cross the Col de la Schlucht with appropriate winter tires, it is not recommended in heavy snow. Plan your route via the A35 highway or the N83 national road.
Access by train or bus
To get hereby train or bus, get off at the Colmar train station, then take a TER or regional train heading toward Munster or Metzeral. From Colmar, the Colmar-Metzeral TER line will take you to a location 1 km from our place. Once in Metzeral, take a taxi or walk up Rue de l’Altenhof, which runs through the entire village.
This is the perfect option for a car-free stay, while still enjoying the convenience of easy access to the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park.
Getting There by Plane
If you’re arriving byplane, the nearest airports are EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL/MLH) and Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport (SXB). From these airports, you can rent a car or take a shuttle to Colmar, then continue on to Metzeral as described above.
Once you arrive in Metzeral, follow Rue de l’Altenhof to reach the campground directly. The exact address to enter into your GPS is: 72 Rue de l’Altenhof, 68380 Metzeral.
