Camping
Is Les Chalets de la Wormsa a campground?
Yes! We are a campground with no tent sites or RV sites. The legal designation for our campground is “Parc Résidentiel de Loisirs,” a type of campground that offers only light recreational housing (chalets, bungalows, or mobile homes). In our case, we have chalets! We are a 4-star “Parc Résidentiel de Loisirs.”
How do I make a reservation?
Two ways to book:
You can book online and pay by credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or Chèques Vacances Connect.
You can also book by mail using a contract —contact us by phone or email—and pay by check, paper Chèques Vacances, or bank transfer.
Reservations made by check or bank transfer must be made at least 8 days in advance.
Is it possible to place an option on a cottage?
No, it is no longer possible to place a hold. Reservations are now instant and final.
In any case, you have the option to change your mind and cancel free of charge up to 15 days before arrival.
Can we order gift certificates?
Yes, you can order weekend or week-long gift certificates or gift cards.

Is it possible to have packages delivered to the cottages?
You can have packages delivered to our vacation village; just let the front desk know.
Hiking
Are there any hiking trails near the Chalets de la Wormsa?
Yes, there are many hiking trails that start right from our place; we’re less than 1 km from the GR5, a European long-distance hiking trail.
From our place, you can head to the wooden bear—a 30-minute round-trip walk that’s stroller-friendly.
With hiking boots, you can hike to Lake Fischboedlé—a 2.5-hour walk—and by adding another 30 minutes, you can continue up toLake Schiessrothried.
A 3.5-hour hike (one way) will take you to the summit, the Hohneck, at an elevation of 1,363 meters.
We are the last paved road access point to the starting points of these hikes.
Swimming Pool and Spa
Are the heated pool and spa area open year-round?
Yes, our heated pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room are open year-round.
Is the pool heated?
Yes, our pool is covered by a dome and is heated year-round to 28° degrees.
Is the pool open during the October break?
Yes, our pool is open in October.
Is the pool open during the April break?
Yes, our pool is open in April.
Do I need to make a reservation for the spa in advance?
The spa area is open to guests all day, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. We do not offer reservations or private bookings.
Can I use the pool and spa without booking a stay in a cabin?
If you are not a guest at the hotel, you may use the pool and spa area provided that you dine in our restaurant during lunch service. You will have access to the pool and spa area in the afternoon after your meal.
On the day of departure, do we still have access to the pool and spa area?
You are welcome to use the pool and spa area all day on your departure day, even after you have checked out of your cottage in the morning (10:30 a.m.).
Can we access the pool and spa area before checking into the cottage?
You mayuse the pool and spa area all day on your arrival day, starting at 10:00 a.m., even if you don't check into the chalet until 3:00 p.m.
Is the pool supervised by a lifeguard?
No, our pool has a maximum depth of one meter forty, and the pool is not supervised. Parents are responsible for their children while they are swimming.
Animals
Are pets allowed?
Pets are welcome at our vacation village and in our restaurant. If you book a stay in one of our accommodations, you’ll need to pay a pet fee of €10 per night.
Is it possible to eat at a restaurant with a dog?
Yes, dogs are allowed in our restaurant.
Facilities
Is there a cabin with a bedroom on the ground floor?
All of our cottages have a bedroom on the ground floor.
Is there a cabin with several bedrooms on the ground floor?
All of our cottages have a single bedroom on the ground floor. The other bedrooms are located upstairs.
Do all the cabins have a kitchen?
All of our accommodations are equipped with a kitchen that includes a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, mini-oven, drip coffee maker, and kitchen utensils. Additional amenities may be available depending on the type of cabin; please see our inventory.
What basic amenities do the cabins have?
All of our accommodations are equippedwith a bathroom (toilet, shower, and sink), manually controlled heating, a television, pillows, comforters, and blankets, as well as clean sheets and towels. Additional amenities may be included depending on the type of chalet; please check the description of your accommodation.
Do the cabins have Wi-Fi access?
Wi-Fi is not available in the cabins. Our guests come here to relax, go hiking, and disconnect.
You’ll have access to free Wi-Fi in the common areas at the front of the property: the bar, terrace, and restaurant.
Do the vacation rentals have Wi-Fi access?
Wi-Fi is available in only two cottages: the Gite de la Wormsa (sleeps 6 – 3 bedrooms) and the Gite du Hohneck (sleeps 6 – 3 bedrooms).
If you are staying in another type of accommodation, you will have access to free Wi-Fi in the common areas at the front of the property: the bar, terrace, and restaurant.
What facilities are available at the site?
Les Chalets de la Wormsa offers several amenities included in your stay: heated pool, spa area, treatments and massages, bar, restaurant, laundry facilities (washer and dryer), Wi-Fi room, outdoor play area for children, ping-pong table, foosball, and pool table, inflatable castle in the summer, bocce court, volleyball court, free parking, and a baby changing station at the entrance to the site.
Are the cottages and/or vacation rentals equipped with air conditioning or heating?
Our cottages are equipped with electric heaters but do not have air conditioning.
We have only one cottage equipped with air conditioning: the Gite du SPA (sleeps 3).
Can you plug in an electric car?
We have two standard 3 kW, 16 A outlets; you can plug in for €15.00 per connection. To connect: you must stop by and pay during reception hours, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
Nearby, you’ll find fast-charging stations in the following towns: Muhlbach-sur-Munster, Munster, Wintzenheim, and Colmar.
Does Les Chalets de la Wormsa have parking spaces or garages?
We have a large free parking lot at the front of the property. Some cottages have space to park a car right next to the cottage.
We do not have a garage available. The parking lot is not monitored. Motorized vehicles, including motorcycles, must be parked in the large parking lot at the front of the property.
What kind of coffee maker is available in the cabins?
Our accommodations are equipped with a drip coffee maker.
Do the cabins have hair dryers?
Yes, all of our accommodations have a hair dryer.
Children
Do babies have to pay for their stay?
Children ages 0 to 2 do not pay for their stay; they stay for free.
At what age do children start paying for breakfast?
Children between the ages of 4 and 12 pay 8 euros for breakfast. Breakfast is free for children under 4.
Are there any baby supplies provided?
We offer a baby kit for 6 euros per night, which includes a travel crib, a high chair, and a baby bathtub. A mattress pad is not provided.
Do you offer a babysitting service or a kids' club?
Les Chalets de la Wormsa does not offer babysitting services or a kids’ club. We are a small, private establishment that prioritizes peace and quiet, relaxation, and nature-based activities. We do not have an entertainment staff.
Hours
What are the check-in and check-out times for the chalets?
Upon arrival at our vacation village, please check in at the front desk between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Check-out is between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
When I rent a place to stay, can we check out early on the day of departure?
Yes, you can check out before 8:00 a.m.; to do so, please ask at the front desk. Our staff will explain the procedure to you.
When I rent a place to stay, can we check out later on the day of departure?
You may check out later on your departure day. To do so, you’ll need to book our“late check-out” option, which costs 30% of the nightly rate. In this case, you may check out as late as 5:00 p.m. instead of 10:30 a.m. Your room will not be rebooked for the following night. This option is subject to availability on our reservation calendar. Please book in advance.
What are the reception desk's hours of operation?
Our front desk is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Guests may check into the cottages starting at 3:00 p.m.
Accommodations
Do the accommodations have a private shower, bathtub, or hot tub?
All of our accommodations have a bathroom with a shower.
We have only one accommodation with a bathtub: the Gite de la Wormsa (6-person apartment).
None of our chalets or gites have a private hot tub. The only hot tub is located in the pool area and is shared with other guests on the property.
Are the cabins suitable for families?
Our cottages are family-friendly; we offer several types of cottages for 2, 4, 5, or 6 people, ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms.
• The 2-person cottages are designed for a couple (one double bed).
• The 4-person cottages are designed for a family of four with two children or four adults (2 bedrooms with one double bed and two single beds). A crib can be added on the ground floor or upstairs.
• The 5-person chalets are designed for a family of five with three children. This chalet is not recommended for four or five adults! (3 bedrooms with two double beds and one single bed). The 5-person chalet is too small to accommodate a crib.
• The 6-person chalets are designed for a family of four with four children or six adults (3 bedrooms with two double beds and two single beds). A crib can be placed on the ground floor or upstairs.
For families of 7 to 20 people, we offer our 10-person Group Chalet and additional chalets for the remaining guests. Please contact us for more information.
Is the vacation village accessible to people with limited mobility?
We have a wheelchair-accessible cabin: the 4-person accessible cabin (cabin number 29, next to the parking lot). This cabin features a ground-floor bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom accessible to wheelchair users. Upstairs, there are two additional sleeping areas for able-bodied guests. This chalet has a dedicated parking space. It is located near the pool and the restaurant.
This chalet can be booked online on our website; it is listed as “Classic 4-Person Chalet Adapted for Wheelchair Users.”
Restaurant
Does our restaurant offer vegetarian dishes or gluten-free bread?
Our restaurant offers a vegetarian burger, but we don't have gluten-free buns.
What are the restaurant's hours of operation?
Our restaurant is open from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
How do I make a reservation at a restaurant?
To make a reservation at the restaurant, you have several options: you can either book on our website or call us at 03 89 77 72 90.
Is it possible to leave a restaurant bill to be charged on the day of departure from the cabin?
We don't have that option at our vacation village.
Are there group menus?
We offer several menu options for group reservations; simply check out our“Group Menus” document on our website.
Is it possible to reserve the restaurant for private use?
At our vacation village, it is not possible to reserve the restaurant for private use. The restaurant must remain open to all guests staying in the cottages.
Optional Services
Are sheets and towels charged as extras?
When you book a vacation rental or a cabin, we provide you with sheets and towels. We can replace them during your stay for stays of more than 7 nights.
Is the end-of-stay cleaning included?
A final cleaning is included; we ask that you clean the kitchen, put away the dishes, and take out the trash. Our staff will take care of the rest.
What needs to be cleaned on the day of departure?
On the day of your departure, please make sure the kitchen is clean, the dishes are put away, the trash is taken out, and you return your dirty sheets to the front desk.
Access
How do I get to the Chalets de la Wormsa in winter?
If you're arriving by car, there are three possible routes. From the north, take the A35 highway to Colmar. From the south, take the N83 national highway to Colmar. From the west, take the D417 through the Vosges Mountains and over the Schlucht Pass (1,139 m) to Munster.
Next, follow the signs for Munster on the D417. From Munster, take the D10 departmental road to Metzeral. Once in Metzeral, head toward Mittlach to pass by our establishment.
In winter, be aware that the Route des Crêtes (D430) is closed. Avoid the Vosges; while it is possible to cross the Col de la Schlucht with appropriate winter tires, it is not recommended in the event of heavy snowfall. Plan your route viathe A35 highway or the N83 national highway.
Can you get to Les Chalets de la Wormsa by train?
Our vacation village is accessible by train to Metzeral, and the train station is 1 km from our place. The Metzeral-Colmar TER train terminates 1 km away on foot from our place.
Are Les Chalets de la Wormsa accessible by public transportation?
By train, the terminus is in Metzeral on the Colmar-Metzeral TER line. By plane, the nearest airport is Basel-Mulhouse.
Are the Wormsa cabins open year-round?
Yes, the Wormsa chalets are open year-round.
We are closed for 10 days in March for staff vacation.
Payment – Terms and Conditions of Sale
How do I pay for my stay?
You have several payment options: bank transfer, credit card, Connect vacation checks, or paper vacation checks.
Are Les Chalets de la Wormsa VACAF-approved?
Yes, our facility is VACAF-approved for AVF assistance. Please contact the front desk at 03 68 61 25 76 (8 a.m.–12 p.m., 2 p.m.–6 p.m.), and we will review your eligibility and calculate your coverage.
What services are included in our rates?
Your rental includes access to your accommodation from 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival until 10:30 a.m. on the day of departure.
Bed linens, towels, and housekeeping are included. The on-site facilities (heated pool, spa, children’s playground, volleyball court, bocce court, etc.) are available all day on the day of arrival and all day on the day of departure.
The pool and spa area is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily; in July and August, it closes at 8:00 p.m. In July and August, we also offer a bread delivery service.
Do I need to pay a security deposit when I arrive?
You will indeed need to provide us with a security deposit of 250€, either by check, in cash, or by providing your credit card information.
How do I cancel my stay?
You can cancel your stay online. To do so, use the booking confirmation email sent by the website on the day of your booking and click“Modify or Cancel.” Cancellation fees will be calculated automatically in accordance with the terms and conditions.
How do I change my trip?
You can modify your reservation online. To do so, use the reservation email sent by the website on the day you made your reservation and click“Modify or Cancel.” Cancellation fees for the original reservation will be calculated automatically in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale.
What are the cancellation fees?
Cancellation fees depend on the rate you selected and the number of days remaining before your arrival. With the standard rate, you can cancel up to 15 days before arrival at no charge. With certain special rates, you can cancel up to 8 days before arrival at no charge.
