Dog sledding in the heart of the Wormsa Valley
Immerse yourself in an authentic adventure in the heart of nature, starting from the Chalets de la Wormsa, nestled in the wild Wormsa valley on the Alsatian side of the Vosges mountains. In winter, when the snow covers the undergrowth and the air is crisp, a dog sled ride offers an unforgettable escapade between forest, ridges and sensations. Whether you’re a slide enthusiast or simply looking to get away from it all, experience a unique moment, guided by a pack and lulled to sleep by the silence of the mountains.

Unspoilt nature and enchanting landscapes
The natural setting of the Wormsa Valley
The Wormsa valley lies at an altitude of around 500 m in the heart of Alsace, in an unspoilt setting where fir forests alternate with mountain pastures and Vosges ridges. In winter, nature is majestic: trees laden with snow, frozen streams, quiet trails. Sledding starts from the Chalets de la Wormsa base, offering direct access to the dedicated trails. The site is just a few minutes from the main roads, but seems out of time, ideal for a nature break.
Winter landscapes here take on an almost magical dimension: snowflakes glisten in the sun, sounds are muffled, and every bend in the path holds a new surprise. It’s also a place rich in biodiversity: if you’re lucky, you’ll spot the tracks of wild animals such as foxes and deer. This protected setting is a true haven of peace for those wishing to recharge their batteries away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Far from the usual tourist routes, the Wormsa Valley offers complete immersion in unspoilt nature, ideal for contemplation and gentle discovery of the mountain environment.

A shared adventure, for ages 3 to 77
The sled dog experience: sensations and progress
Your adventure begins with a meeting with the musher and his enthusiastic, well-trained sled dogs. After a briefing and appropriate harnessing, you glide down the slopes, sitting or standing depending on the package chosen, pulled by a dynamic pack. The ride generally lasts between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the package, between trees and through snow-covered glades. All along the way, you’ll feel the complicity between the musher, the dogs and the surrounding nature. This activity is suitable for families, couples and sports enthusiasts in search of thrills and spills.
The musher often shares anecdotes about his dogs and the specifics of this Nordic practice, making the experience even more enriching. Depending on weather and snow conditions, the route can vary, guaranteeing a unique experience. Children as young as 3 or 4 can take part under certain conditions, making this an intergenerational activity par excellence. The sensation of gliding, the muffled sound of paws on snow, and the harmony of movement create a soothing, almost meditative atmosphere. It’s also the perfect opportunity to take some wonderful souvenir photos, against the backdrop of the snow-covered Vosges mountains.
